The Opportunity Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will lead the compliance function as a key member of the leadership team. This role carries full accountability across product, vendor, and customer compliance, while also driving continuous improvement, risk management, and system optimisation. You will act as the internal subject matter expert, guiding the business on regulatory requirements, emerging standards, and best practice across multiple markets. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Culture Build and lead a high-performing compliance function, fostering a culture aligned to core values of simplicity, passion, integrity, relationships, improvement, and teamwork Drive sustainability and ethical sourcing initiatives across products and suppliers (including FSC and responsible sourcing standards) Lead, coach, and develop the compliance team, including direct management of an offshore Compliance Controller Build strong strategic relationships with key retail partners' compliance and QC teams Compliance & Risk Management Establish and maintain robust compliance frameworks, including QMS, documentation control, change control, risk assessment, and CAPA processes Identify, assess, and mitigate product and supplier compliance risks across global markets Ensure all regulatory policies and procedures are documented, implemented, and communicated effectively Act as the escalation point for compliance incidents and regulatory matters Product & Vendor Compliance Lead supplier onboarding and factory compliance processes in partnership with Procurement Oversee product safety, testing, and certification requirements across ANZ, US, UK, and EU markets Facilitate third-party testing, including lab selection, SLA negotiation, and cost optimisation Manage toxicology risk assessments (TRA), including LHAMA requirements where applicable Maintain product safety data sheets in line with relevant industrial chemical schemes Support production, sales, and logistics teams on compliance requirements, including FOB programs Systems, Process & Continuous Improvement Drive continuous improvement across compliance systems, processes, and reporting Develop and maintain compliance documentation systems and product safety libraries Manage QA/QC/AQL standards and ensure consistency across suppliers and products Oversee compliance portals for major customers, ensuring all documentation is current and audit-ready Customer & Regulatory Engagement Manage onboarding and compliance requirements for new customers Prepare and submit compliance reports to regulatory bodies Ensure all product labelling and artwork meets relevant regulatory and customer-specific standards Stay ahead of evolving global regulatory requirements and educate internal stakeholders accordingly What You Bring Extensive knowledge of product safety and labelling standards across US and ANZ (exposure to EU/UK highly regarded) Strong experience within a product, manufacturing, or consumer goods environment Deep expertise in compliance frameworks including QMS, risk management, non-conformance, and CAPA Proven leadership capability with experience building and developing teams Strong stakeholder engagement skills across internal teams, suppliers, and global customers Commercial acumen with the ability to balance compliance requirements with business objectives Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Why Join Own and shape a global compliance function in a growing business Work with a passionate, high-performing, and collaborative team Influence product integrity across major international retail markets High-impact role with strong visibility across the business If you're ready to take on a pivotal leadership role where you can truly make your mark, we'd love to hear from you.
