Initial 3 month role, with possible extension Brisbane CBD based Our Queensland Government client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst (Document System Specialist) to safeguard the integrity, consistency, and effectiveness of the organisation’s controlled document suite, including policies, procedures, and technical specifications. You will ensure that documentation is operationally sound, commercially viable, and logically consistent, while maintaining a coherent and structured document ecosystem across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Review, analyse, and validate documentation submitted by business units to ensure accuracy, clarity, and operational relevance. Critically assess inputs from business leads to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or superficial content, and drive improvements prior to publication. Maintain the architectural integrity of the document framework, ensuring alignment and consistency between parent policies and associated child procedures, forms, and technical documents. Identify and manage interdependencies across documents, recognising and addressing flow-on impacts of changes within the document hierarchy. Reduce post-publication errors and rework by improving the quality and completeness of documents at the draft stage. Develop and maintain clear mapping of relationships between parent and child documents. Ensure consistency in terminology, branding, formatting, and standards across all controlled documents. Engage with stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to facilitate robust document review processes and drive accountability for content quality. Build strong working relationships with business leaders to secure engagement, time, and commitment to governance processes. Provide guidance and feedback to business units to uplift the quality of document development practices. Ability to tailor communication style to suit different audiences, including senior leaders and technical SMEs. Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in cross-referencing and validating complex document sets. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement. Ability to challenge constructively and ensure quality without disrupting stakeholder relationships.
