The Role This position supports the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant, working closely with the Business Manager to ensure production, safety, quality and operational targets are achieved. You will play a key role in overseeing production activities, managing staff, maintaining compliance standards and supporting site performance. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who can balance operational oversight with team management and reporting responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Support the Business Manager in overseeing daily plant operations Plan and schedule production to meet budget and output targets Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards Lead, supervise and develop production staff on site Monitor plant performance across production, cost and quality metrics Manage stock levels and coordinate purchasing of consumables and materials Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks and incident investigations Assist with month-end reporting and administrative processes Maintain contractor management and site compliance requirements Drive continuous improvement across operations and team performance You Will Have Experience in a manufacturing or production supervisory role Proven ability to lead and manage teams in an operational environment Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices Administrative and reporting experience, including payroll exposure Commercial awareness with an understanding of budgets and cost control Strong communication and interpersonal skills Mechanical or technical understanding (highly regarded) Background in timber, industrial or similar manufacturing environments (advantageous) Culture You will be joining a structured and safety-focused environment where accountability and teamwork are valued.
