About the role: At CDC, our Service Technicians work in live data centre environments, supporting the operation of mission‑critical infrastructure. If you’ve spent time in electrical, HVAC, or industrial environments, a lot of this will feel familiar. Working to procedures, taking safety seriously, and understanding the impact of your work is critical. A data centre applies those same principles to power, cooling, fire systems and monitoring, all operating continuously. The difference is the environment, the scale, and the opportunity to apply your skills in a stable, growing industry. Data centre experience isn’t required. We welcome people from a range of hands‑on technical backgrounds and provide training and support to help you apply your existing skills in a more operational, monitoring‑focused environment. What you’ll be doing day‑to‑day: Monitoring and responding to alarms and alerts across power, cooling, and fire systems Performing physical inspections to ensure equipment and infrastructure are operating within defined parameters Responding to faults and incidents, prioritising actions, and determining when escalation or contractor support is required Carrying out operational switching and control activities to prevent unplanned outages Supporting planned maintenance and monitoring contractors on site, ensuring strict adherence to safety procedures and approved methods of operation Documenting incidents, maintenance activities, and observations to support continuous improvement This role works on a rotating 24/7 shift roster (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off) and suits individuals who are comfortable making decisions, following defined processes, and working calmly in high‑reliability environments.
