Job Description Position: APS6 Senior Procurement Officer Location: Canberra, ACT or Brisbane, QLD Start date: As soon as possible Duration: Approximate 6-month non-ongoing contract with potential to extend Pay rate: $104,898 - $119,116 per annum plus 15.4% superannuation Security requirements: Baseline clearance required at time of application The Opportunity An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced APS6 Senior Procurement Officer to join a high-performing procurement team. In this role, you will work under limited direction to deliver end-to-end procurement activities, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policy frameworks. You will collaborate closely with internal business areas to provide expert advice, support procurement processes, and ensure timely and compliant outcomes. This role also involves leading a small team and contributing to continuous improvement across procurement practices. Key Responsibilities: Deliver end-to-end procurement activities from planning through to contract management Provide guidance and support on complex procurement processes Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and frameworks (including Commonwealth Procurement Rules) Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the organisation Lead and support a small team to achieve procurement outcomes Assist with tender documentation, evaluation processes and contract negotiations Support probity, quality assurance and risk management activities Maintain accurate and compliant record keeping practices Contribute to supply planning, market approaches and procurement strategies Skills/experience required: Demonstrated experience in procurement, contract management or similar roles Strong understanding of procurement frameworks and compliance requirements Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes on time Experience leading or mentoring team members is highly regarded Strong analytical, research and problem-solving capabilities Highly Regarded: Experience working within a government environment Previous experience leading geographically dispersed teams Certificate IV in Procurement and Contract Management (or equivalent) Apply now or contact Angel Malkovich on 6260 8888 at SOS Recruitment for a confidential discussion.
