Your new company A respected not-for-profit organisation working nationally to deliver community and social impact programs is seeking a Junior Accountant to join its finance team. The organisation operates in a purposedriven environment and partners closely with program teams to ensure funding is managed responsibly and transparently. Youll be part of a collaborative finance function that supports meaningful services and longterm social outcomes. Your new role Reporting to a Finance Team Leader, the Junior Accountant will support the financial management of funded programs and work closely with internal stakeholders across service delivery teams. Key responsibilities include: Assisting with the accounting and tracking of grant income and program expenditure. Supporting monthend processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and resolving discrepancies. Preparing and maintaining program reports, budgets and forecasts to support operational and funding requirements. Assisting with acquittals and financial reporting in line with funding agreements and deadlines. Supporting cash flow forecasting for funded programs. Assisting with audit preparation and ensuring compliance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements. Providing ad hoc financial analysis and reporting using Excel and reporting dashboards. This is a handson role offering strong development opportunities within a supportive finance team. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will bring: A tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce, business or a related discipline, or CPA or CA qualification. Earlycareer experience (or internship/placement experience) in accounting or finance, ideally within a not-for-profit or community services environment. A solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting. Strong Excel skills and an interest in developing data and reporting capability. Excellent organisation skills, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines. Clear communication skills and a collaborative, stakeholderfocused approach. A genuine interest in social impact, community services and valuesled work.
