We are seeking an Associate Lecturer/Lecturer in Clinical Education with expertise in Exercise and Sport Science and Exercise Physiology to contribute to high‑quality, practice‑oriented teaching that prepares graduates for contemporary health and clinical practice. This education‑focused role is expected to make a substantial contribution to clinical teaching and learning, design and evaluation with a strong emphasis on student coaching, skills development, and best‑practice client care in simulated and authentic work-based settings. The successful candidate will work closely with academic and clinical colleagues to deliver engaging, authentic learning experiences that support student success and workforce readiness. The role is expected to dedicate the majority of workload (typically up to 70% by agreement) to teaching and teaching‑related activity, including curriculum design, assessment, evaluation, and scholarly enhancement of clinical education practice. Clinical education may be delivered outside standard business hours. Applicants should be aware that this role involves early starts and late finishes due to the scheduling required for student-led clinic operations. Your key responsibilities will be to: Deliver and coordinate high‑quality clinical teaching and student coaching in simulated and/or authentic clinical environments within a collaborative teaching team apply current clinical expertise to inform teaching practice and support student development of professional skills and patient‑centred care contribute to outstanding educational design, delivery, evaluation, and outcomes across relevant units of study innovate in clinical education through contemporary, evidence‑informed teaching practices and learning technologies contribute to the scholarship of clinical education through reflective practice, evaluation, and dissemination of teaching improvements provide mentoring and professional guidance to students and contribute to the development of teaching capability in junior or sessional staff, modelling effective clinical reasoning, communication and professional behaviour in clinical teaching contexts support and contribute to the education and administrative activities of the School, including meetings and committee work engage constructively with clinical and industry partners, strengthening links between the University and the profession contribute positively to workplace culture, teamwork, diversity, and inclusion support the strategic objectives of the School, Faculty and University undertake other teaching- and education-related duties consistent with the level of appointment. About you A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (Exercise Physiology / Exercise and Sport Science or related field) minimum of 5 years of recent clinical experience in Exercise Physiology/Exercise and Sport Science or related area current professional registration/accreditation with Exercise & Sport Science Australia (ESSA) as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) or Accredited Exercise Scientist (AES) demonstrated experience in clinical teaching and learning a developing and applied understanding of contemporary clinical education practices and effective curriculum design proven ability to work collaboratively as part of an academic and clinical education team commitment to excellence in teaching demonstrated ability to foster inclusive, equitable and respectful learning environments.
