This is a senior leadership opportunity for a hands-on Data Engineering Lead who can combine strong technical capability with strategic platform thinking, stakeholder engagement, and enterprise data leadership. You’ll play a key role in shaping and evolving a modern Azure/Fabric data ecosystem, driving platform uplift across governance, architecture, data products, integration, and scalability. What You’ll Be Doing Lead the evolution of an enterprise Microsoft Fabric and Azure data platform Drive lakehouse architecture, data platform modernisation, and scalable engineering practices Partner with business stakeholders to shape data products and strategic platform initiatives Align engineering delivery with enterprise architecture and integration standards Lead and mentor engineers while remaining technically hands-on Own platform governance, metadata, security, and operational standards Work closely with strategic vendors and internal delivery teams on upcoming transformation initiatives What We’re Looking For Deep experience across Microsoft Fabric and the Azure data ecosystem Proven background leading enterprise-scale data engineering or platform initiatives Deep expertise across: Microsoft Fabric Azure Data Factory Azure Synapse Data Lake / Lakehouse architectures Azure DevOps / CI/CD Experience balancing hands-on engineering with strategic leadership responsibilities Strong stakeholder engagement and business-facing communication skills Experience with enterprise architecture alignment, integration patterns, and platform governance Ability to operate across both BAU platform ownership and long-term transformation initiatives Nice to Have Experience within complex operational or multi-site environments Exposure to retail, franchise, logistics, hospitality, or customer-facing industries Experience working with third-party delivery partners or strategic vendors This is an excellent opportunity to join a business investing heavily in its enterprise data capability, with Microsoft Fabric playing a central role in the next phase of the platform journey.
