About the opportunity We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead our New South Wales safety function. We are open to candidates currently operating at State Manager or Head of Safety level who are looking to lead safety at scale across major infrastructure projects. You will set direction and lead a team of Senior Advisors and Advisors, partnering with operational leaders to deliver consistent, high-performing safety outcomes. This role is central to strengthening safety culture and will shape how safety is led, governed and embedded at every level. Key responsibilities include; Contribute to and execute the NSW safety strategy aligned to national priorities and evolving legislative and client requirements. Drive measurable improvement in safety performance and culture across the NSW portfolio, embedding consistent standards and practices. Maintain a strong on-site presence to ensure safety systems, standards and critical controls are consistently embedded in practice. Oversee complex investigations and ensure learnings are translated into practical, sustainable improvements. Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, ISO 45001, OFSC requirements and client frameworks. Build strong relationships with client safety representatives, regulators and other key external stakeholders, and partner with State safety leaders to ensure nationally aligned standards and performance. What you’ll bring to the team We are looking for an experienced safety leader who combines strategic thinking with practical delivery in high-risk construction or infrastructure environments. The successful applicant will also have; Experience operating at State, Regional or Head of Safety level, with accountability for strategy, governance and performance across large and complex portfolios. Relevant qualifications in Work Health and Safety, with leadership or management qualifications advantageous. Demonstrated success leading multi-project safety functions and influencing senior operational leaders to drive measurable improvement and cultural uplift. Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation, ISO 45001, OFSC and assurance frameworks, with Lead Auditor and advanced incident investigation training such as ICAM or Learning Teams. Demonstrated ability to lead change, challenge established practices and drive innovation that strengthens safety performance and culture.
