Working on the AIR6500 project, the Hardware Engineer role will provide services including but not limited to: • Contribute to the development of a hardware solution for AIR6500 • Assess hardware and non-functional related requirements, along with conducting product research and defining the verification/certification approach • Work with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and System Architects to establish detailed hardware requirements • Contribute to the development of key AIR6500 technical documents and artefacts such as solution description and definition of requirements • Work with a broad set of stakeholders, across the Lockheed Martin Business and their partners for the achievement of common goals Your responsibilities will include: The Hardware Engineer Senior (Mechanical)’s primarily responsibilities include: Develop AIR6500 deployable elements and ruggedized solutions for packaging hardware components Establish the product baseline, working with CM/DM team to manage the components, parts and assemblies within Configuration Management Tool Author technical documentation and develop Technical Data Package as required Contribute to the development and conduct of Technical Reviews Define the AIR6500 solution accounting for physical interfaces to accommodate future AIR6500 solutions and other key external projects in an architecture model Assess physical infrastructure related requirements (map to architecture product trades, sell off approach) Decompose and capture sub-system requirements within the Requirements management tool, DNG. Includes traceability and verification methodology Develop Test Plans, Procedures and Test reports as required Conduct design activities, generate 3D models and conduct FEA/CFD analysis as required Engage with AIR6500 IPTs and Specialty Engineering groups to ensure common understanding of requirements and design considerations Perform Trade Studies to evaluate possible technical substitutions as required About you: Knowledge of packaging for ruggedized deployable land-based systems Excellent analysis skills with an ability to develop and evaluate alternatives to determine best value based on customer provided performance weighting Understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles Proficient in concept development Excellent verbal communication skills including both speaking and listening to the customer Familiarity with operational analysis and modelling and simulation Desirable Extensive knowledge of: Power Generation and Distribution Environmental Control Systems Hydraulic Systems CAD modelling software (e.g. PTC Creo) Analysis tools such as Ansys Model-based System engineering experience (Rhapsody experience) Requirement decomposition (DNG experience) Ground-based Sensors Infrastructure software technologies including virtualisation, multi-level security, cyber defence, network accreditation, information assurance, system management Infrastructure hardware technologies including computing (servers, clients, storage) network, cross domain solutions Agile Methodology Configuration Management principles and experience with configuration management tool (e.g. EPDM) Special Requirements: Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
