We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team. To be considered for this position, you will need to have a minimum of 5 years experience operating Herrenknecht & Iseki microtunnelling machines in variable ground conditions ranging from soft ground to hard rock. Other required skills and attributes include : Experienced in long drives over 300 metre length Microtunnelling up to 2 metre diameter minimum Civil Construction Industry background Relevant training certificates Clear communication skills - written and verbal High standards of workmanship and attention to detail Knowledge in the mechanics (including hydraulics) within the TBM The ability to trouble-shoot any problems that may be encountered You must be able to maintain the line and grade of the tunnel while steering the TBM, as well as fully operate the Earth Pressure Balance Machine (EPBM), slurry removal operations and the installation of jacking pipes as per construction scope and design. Reporting to the Tunnelling Operations Manager, you will be responsible for : Preparing tunnel boring machines for operation; Set up of works compounds and associated equipment for works; Working from drawings and specifications under the direction of the Tunnelling Operation Manager; Performing minor repairs and adjustments when necessary TBM operations in accordance with the manufactures guidelines. Monitoring the excavated material throughout the cycle to minimize the risk of over cut and excessive product removal (settlement); Implementation of the annular grouting procedure behind the entrance ring and caisson wall. The use of Soil conditioning agents during the tunnelling operations in approved mixes to handle the geotechnical and groundwater conditions expected along the tunnel alignment; Slurry removal operations and spoil handlings from the TBM; Completion of tunnelling shift reports and daily drive records; Assembly and disassembly of the TBM's before the initial drive as well as cutting head and cutting tool inspection; Pre-launch checks; Coordinate and prepare launch and receival shafts for micro tunnelling operations and associated equipment Preparation of equipment to be checked, inspected and tested ( where required ) prior to mobilisation of site works Demobilisation processes for micro tunnelling operations on site - post completion of associated works and reinstatement where required In this position, you will be working on various sites across Australia so it's essential that you are able to work Australia wide for project requirements. We are also seeking experienced Drainers to join our team in full time roles in Perth. This role will involve lay, backfill, compact sewer, drainage, setting up pipe lasers, carrying out level checks, and water & gas pipe works in new subdivisions. Applicants must have at least 3 years' experience as a Drainer. A remuneration package of $76,515 - $100,000 will be offered to the successful candidates.
