About the Organisation: Our client is a well-established organisation in the property and construction industry, known for their collaborative and high-performing culture. With a central CBD office and ongoing internal growth, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a dynamic sector while working in a supportive and values-driven environment. The Role: Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for: Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports Reconciling general ledger accounts and investigating discrepancies Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation Assisting with BAS, GST, and other statutory compliance requirements Liaising with internal stakeholders and external auditors as required The Candidate: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline 1–3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role Working towards or intending to pursue CPA/CA qualification Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Proficiency in accounting software (MYOB, Xero, or large ERP systems – Dynamics 365 is a bonus) Advanced Microsoft Excel skills High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and excellent communication abilities Desirable Skills: Experience in property, construction, or development industries Knowledge of project accounting or cost tracking If you’re ready to take the next step in your accounting career and contribute to a collaborative finance team, I’d love to hear from you.
