We’re partnering with a well-established business operating within a larger group structure at the Port of Brisbane, looking for an Interim Head of Finance to provide steady leadership, commercial insight, and hands-on delivery during a key period. Why this role stands out You’ll report directly to the CEO and have real influence on decision-making It’s a true partnering role, not just reporting, but shaping outcomes The finance function is already established, this role is about adding value, not rebuilding You’ll have the autonomy to prioritise what matters and deliver quickly What you’ll be doing Acting as a trusted advisor to the CEO, providing clear, commercial insights Leading a small, capable finance team, keeping delivery on track Owning financial reporting, cash flow, and performance analysis Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and board-level presentations Ensuring strong controls, governance, and compliance Managing cash flow, working capital, and liquidity Partnering with group finance to ensure alignment and reporting consistency Contributing to business decisions, investments, and key initiatives What you’ll bring Experience operating at Head of Finance / CFO / Finance Director level CA, CPA, or CIMA qualification (or equivalent experience) A strong blend of technical finance and commercial acumen Confidence working closely with senior stakeholders and influencing outcomes The ability to step into a role quickly and deliver A pragmatic, hands-on approach Ideally, exposure to retail or consumer-driven environments About You You’re someone who enjoys interim roles because you can cut through the noise, focus on what matters, and make a difference quickly.
