Job Description This newly created role is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and leadership of warehouse and transport activities at the Toowoomba site. You will lead a team of drivers, warehouse assistants and a Leading Hand, working closely with an experienced 2IC who has more than a decade of knowledge in the operation.This position is hands-on and operational. You will be present supporting drivers and ensuring decisions are centralised rather than made on the fly. Around 60 percent of your time will be spent working in the operation and 40 percent on planning, improvement, structure and leadership.Key areas of focus include improving DIFOT and accuracy, lifting compliance and performance standards, setting clear expectations, reintroducing structure into daily workflows and ensuring the site operates smoothly during disruptions such as flooding or delays. You will also coordinate rosters, allocate tasks, support WHS compliance, and work closely with the broader supply chain and customer operations teams. Lead and manage daily warehouse and logistics operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Oversee inventory control processes, including stock management and replenishment. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards within the warehouse environment. Coordinate with internal teams to streamline supply chain processes and meet operational goals. Monitor and analyse performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. Train and mentor team members, promoting a culture of collaboration and accountability. Manage incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. Resolve operational challenges and implement solutions to improve overall efficiency. The Successful Applicant You will bring solid experience in transport, logistics or warehousing, with a background that reflects steady progression and exposure to leading teams or stepping into higher duties. This role suits someone who is confident managing a mature driver group, comfortable having direct conversations and able to re-establish structure in an environment that has relied on staff making many of their own decisions. You'll be calm, practical, hands-on and confident in your approach - the type of leader who has "seen it before" in a transport or operational setting. Proven experience in warehouse and logistics management, Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Knowledge of inventory control systems and warehouse management software. Understanding of safety and regulatory compliance requirements in logistics operations. Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to operational challenges. Strong organisational and communication skills to ensure smooth team coordination.
