About the Role: National Storage REIT (ASX: NSR) is a leading self-storage owner/operator across Australia and New Zealand, with over 290 centres and a highly acquisitive growth strategy. Following the anticipated completion of a Scheme of Arrangement, NSR will be entering a new phase of transactional and structural complexity. To support this next stage of growth, NSR has created a new permanent Tax Accountant role within its Finance function. Reporting to the Group Tax Manager, the Tax Accountant will be responsible for tax compliance within a newly devised entity structure, covering a wide span of Australian and New Zealand taxes across numerous entities in multiple tax groups. This is a hands-on role suited to an autonomous, tax professional who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment. You will be directly supported and mentored by the Group Tax Manager who has worked in the business for 10 years, along with regular interaction with the experienced tax teams working for NSR’s new investors. Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to): Complete recurring tax compliance and reporting for Australia and New Zealand. Providing tax compliance assistance in a number of areas, including NZ and Australian income tax, NZ and Australian GST, stamp duty, FBT, superannuation/KiwiSaver, payroll tax and Worker’s Compensation. Assist with maintaining the tax governance framework. Support preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation, management charges and cross-border rental arrangements between group entities. Assist in maintenance of tax fixed asset registers, Division 40/43 schedules, quantity surveyor reports and associated reconciliations. Support the management of property taxes such as land tax, rates and stamp duty. Ad hoc tax support including assistance preparing tax calculations, supporting workpapers and ongoing lodgements as required for capital gains tax and stamp duty purposes plus providing ad-hoc tax structuring support on potential investments / divestment. About You: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline CA/CPA/CTA qualifications At least 3 years’ experience in taxation, ideally with exposure property funds/REIT structures Strong understanding of Australian income tax, GST, FBT, and tax effect accounting principles Exposure to New Zealand tax regulations and other international tax experience desirable Organised, dependable, and proactive.
