About the Role Clyde & Co is seeking an ambitious and highly motivated newly admitted lawyer to join one of our leading Insurance practices in Sydney. This is a rare opportunity to launch your legal career alongside Partner Christopher Smith, recognised expert in insurance law, with exposure to large scale, complex, high value, multi-party, multi-jurisdiction litigation. As part of this team, you will work on high-profile matters for both local and international clients, collaborating closely with colleagues in London and across our global network. Key Responsibilities Under the guidance of experienced Senior Lawyers and Partners, you will: Assist with the preparation and management of client files Draft, analyse, and interpret a range of legal documents and correspondence Conduct legal research and prepare summary memoranda Prepare and file court documents Attend client meetings and teleconferences Contribute to matter planning and strategy sessions Prepare file notes, memoranda, and meeting summaries Assist with drafting witness statements and affidavits Liaise with and support barristers, including preparing briefs to counsel Stay up to date with legal developments and contribute to internal learning sessions Support business development activities, including writing articles, preparing presentations, and assisting with tenders and client events You will be encouraged to develop technical excellence, build strong client relationships, and grow your personal brand within a high-performance team and firm culture. Key Skills and Experience We are looking for an ambitious lawyer who enjoys working as part of a dynamic and collaborative team with the following experience: Genuine interest in general insurance litigation spanning financial lines, professional indemnity, and director and officers (D&O) Strong academic credentials, self-driven with excellent verbal and written communications skills. Strong time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities effectively. Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work independently. Commercial awareness and confidence in building a rapport with clients to gain a better understanding of their business' needs and with the assistance of the partner, actively developing these client relationships.
