As the Executive Manager for Retail Data Engineering, you will lead the teams responsible for building and evolving the pipelines and platforms that power retail analytics and AI in real-world environments. This is a leadership role anchored in real engineering impact. You will not be removed from the technical context, but your primary focus will be building strong teams, setting direction, and ensuring delivery outcomes align with Retail’s commercial priorities. Lead high-performing data engineering teams Lead distributed data engineering squads, coaching engineering leads and creating an environment of accountability, clarity and continuous improvement. Build resilient, scalable data systems Oversee the design and evolution of data pipelines and production data platforms that support advanced analytics and AI solutions used by major retailers. Align engineering to business outcomes Translate commercial objectives into clear engineering priorities, ensuring the team’s work drives measurable improvements in efficiency, speed and impact. Lift engineering standards Strengthen planning, execution and operational discipline across squads. Bring structure where needed, without adding unnecessary process. Drive cross-functional execution Partner closely with AI, platform and application engineering leaders to ensure solutions are cohesive end-to-end, not fragmented by domain. Act as the accountable domain leader Be the recognised point of leadership for data engineering within Retail, proactively managing risks, delivery health and stakeholder confidence.
