Your role as a Consultant will see you contribute to the delivery of projects across a range of clients, sectors and energy topics. Your day-to-day will vary depending on the scope and requirements of individual projects. Typically, you will work on: Literature reviews and desktop research Quantitative and qualitative analysis Technology cost-benefit analysis and feasibility studies Stakeholder engagement and workshop organisation Information synthesis, extracting key insights and developing recommendations Writing reports and developing summary presentations Attending and actively participating in client meetings related to projects you are working on Supporting the business development efforts of the company and writing proposals Example projects: · National Bioenergy Roadmap – developed for ARENA a comprehensive roadmap developed with multiple bioenergy stakeholders in Australia to characterise how bioenergy might play a role in the Australian energy transition, as well as the short- and medium-term actions that would help unlock the bioenergy value in Australia. · Microgrids go-to-market strategy – supported a new venture company, formed between an international technology supplier and a global investment fund, to identify the most attractive countries in South-East Asia for developing C&I microgrid activities, compile a list of acquisition opportunities, and design the most appropriate go-to-market strategy. · Non-network solutions evaluation tool – developed for an electricity network a benefits framework to evaluate ‘non-network solutions’ against network augmentation projects, and rank the different opportunities based on their capital deferral potential. · Australian Decentralised Energy Resources (DER) go-to-market strategy – for a solution provider, characterised the Australian DER market and its likely future evolution, and identified opportunities for new positioning in Australia’s emerging distributed smart grid. · Due diligence of BESS portfolio – supported an investment fund in a due diligence for the acquisition of a portfolio of large-scale storage assets, helping to better understand the opportunities and risks associated with the target. · Biogas Vision New Zealand – developed for a group of gas networks and biomethane project developers a ‘possible vision’ of the biogas/biomethane sector in New Zealand by 2050, to support their response to a public consultation and help shape the future of the bioenergy sector.
