We are currently seeking Registered and Enrolled Nurses for casual positions within our Surgery Centre, a standalone unit comprising three theatres and a day surgery unit. Our modern facility accommodates approximately 40 Surgical cases a day, specialising in both adult and paediatric care. We offer a supportive and collaborative environment, with opportunities to work across a variety of surgical specialties. Based at our Surgery Centre - 83 Myers Street Hours Monday to Friday 0700-1900 with staggered shifts scheduled across these hours to meet operational needs Areas of work include Day Surgery Positions - Patient Admissions, Anaesthetics 1st and 2nd Stage Recovery- Adult and Paediatric patients Theatre Specialty areas- Ophthalmology, Endoscopy, Plastics, ENT and Oral Surgery Previous experience in day surgery is preferred , and exposure to paediatric patients or cath-lab nursing will be highly regarded. The Position Assesses plans, delivers and evaluates patient care, seeking support from senior staff as required. Promotes and contributes to effective communication, facilitating teamwork and cooperation within the department and within the hospital. Provides patient education and acts as a resource where appropriate. Supports and supervises staff and students as required, including orientating and precepting staff. Contributes to the achievement of Hospital and Clinical Services operational objectives. Participate in patient assessments, including mental health, risk assessment and management, history taking and developing comprehensive nursing care plans. Ensuring risks are documented and appropriate interventions, referrals are facilitated. Administer medication within scope of the Enrolled Nurse classification and in accordance with statutory and organisational guidelines under the direct or indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse. Advise and educate patients regarding treatment and recovery in relevant specialty. You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and demonstrate a minimum of 2 years clinical experience in a relevant specialty. You will demonstrate a commitment to quality patient care and satisfaction, along with well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills. To succeed in this role, you will bring excellent communication and teamwork skills, a strong commitment to patient-centred care, and ideally, recent experience in perioperative or day surgery settings.
