The Opportunity GEO is seeking motivated and passionate Provisional Psychologists to join our Rehabilitation and Reintegration Services team at Ravenhall Correctional Centre, with opportunities for supported practice at the GEO Community Reintegration Centre. This role is ideally suited to postgraduate students or graduates completing their Masters, Doctoral training, or 51 supervised pathways, who are seeking rich, structured forensic experience under the supervision of approved Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) supervisors. At GEO, Provisional Psychologists are fully integrated into clinical teams and supported to develop strong forensic assessment and intervention skills within a highly respected Continuum of Care model. Your Key Impact Areas As a Provisional Psychologist, you will work under close supervision within a multidisciplinary clinical team and will: Conduct structured clinical interviews, psychometric testing, functional behaviour assessments and risk assessments Develop comprehensive forensic case formulations and individualised treatment plans Deliver individual cognitive-behavioural interventions addressing criminogenic needs, treatment readiness, trauma, distress and reintegration Co-facilitate evidence-based group programs targeting violence, substance use, family violence, antisocial thinking, problem solving and impulsivity Participate in family-based rehabilitation programs at the Community Reintegration Centre Provide supported post-release psychological support to selected ex-prisoners Contribute to case conferences, reintegration planning and multidisciplinary reviews Collaborate with custodial teams, Forensicare, GEO Health, YMCA and other alliance partners Maintain high-quality clinical documentation and data integrity Participate in intensive clinical supervision, reflective practice and professional development This role provides real-world forensic experience, continuous learning and direct contribution to reducing reoffending. About You • Possession of a 4-year APAC accredited sequence of study in Psychology. • Registered or eligible for registration as a provisional psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA). • A genuine interest in the role of the psychologist in the Victorian Criminal Justice System. · A desire to learn about forensic psychology including the “What works” literature, the application of the Good Lives Model (GLM), principles of Risk Need Responsivity (RNR), and the role of Therapeutic Jurisprudence (TJ) in reducing recidivism in offender populations. • Demonstrated awareness of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). • The ability to take direction and feedback and incorporate this into subsequent practice. • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others both cross-agency and as part of a multidisciplinary team of professionals. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently prepare clinical formulations and reports.
