To learn more visit www.bawbawshire.vic.gov.au About the Role The Property Officer role is responsible for the administration, management and maintenance of Council’s land and building portfolio. This includes leasing and property administration, managing relationships with user groups, and supporting internal teams with property-related matters. The role sits within the Governance team, a small and supportive unit responsible for managing leases and licences of Council property. You will oversee tenant relationships, including invoicing, and provide assistance to internal stakeholders in relation to groups and clubs occupying Council land. Working alongside the Property Management Coordinator and Manager Governance, you will also assist with the discontinuance and sale of roads, Crown land management, and the creation and removal of easements. This position provides the opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic and complex property environment. About the Successful Candidate The successful candidate will preferably have: A diploma qualification or previous experience in commercial property management and/or local government Strong administrative skills and great attention to detail The ability to build effective working relationships with other departments, tenants, clubs and users of Council property Ability to support negotiations and stakeholder discussions High level of written and oral communication skills to effectively convey technical information, policies and statutory requirements Strong digital literacy, including accurate database management and the ability to follow established procedures An understanding of relevant property and local government legislation Previous property experience is desirable but not essential for this role Why you'll love working at Baw Baw Shire We believe in fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued.
