About the Role UGL is seeking experienced Mobile Plant Operators to join Muchea BESS project. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mobile plant and equipment, while also assisting with general site tasks as required. This position suits a safety-focused operator who can work independently, follow procedures and contribute positively within a team-based environment. This is a site‑based role at the Muchea BESS. If you are located within a one‑hour drive of Muchea, you can commute daily. If you live further away or interstate, you must be willing to work on a DIDO or FIFO basis. Key Responsibilities Technical Operate mobile plant and equipment including skid steer, excavator, forklift, telehandler and similar machinery Carry out clearing, earthworks, material handling and lifting tasks as directed Load, move, store and transport raw materials and finished goods within site or warehouse areas Ensure loads are evenly distributed and securely placed Perform daily pre-start inspections, record defects, tag out equipment if required and report to supervision Maintain accurate records of daily plant operations Apply high standards of quality and workmanship at all times Safety Carry out all duties in accordance with UGL and site HSE requirements Ensure safe working conditions for employees, contractors and visitors Participate in daily pre-start and toolbox meetings Use appropriate PPE, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), pre-work checks and risk assessments Report hazards, incidents and near misses in line with company procedures Actively participate in safety training and continuous improvement initiatives Other Complete all required UGL and client site inductions Maintain a clean, tidy, organised and safe work area Demonstrate a professional attitude, appearance and behaviour at all times Comply with all UGL systems, processes, standards and expected behaviours Participate in learning and development activities to enhance skills and capability Qualifications & Experience Essential Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role on construction or industrial sites High Risk Work Licence – Forklift (LF) Relevant machinery operator tickets (e.g. skid steer, excavator, telehandler) Construction White Card Current unrestricted Australian driver’s licence Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident with unlimited working rights Ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision Proven strong safety record Desirable Heavy Vehicle Driver’s Licence CN High Risk Work Crane Licence Personal Attributes Strong team player with a positive and proactive safety mindset Clear verbal and written communication skills Willingness and ability to adapt, learn new equipment and processes Continuous improvement focus on performance and efficiency Strong problem-solving and relationship-building skills Why UGL?
