As UGL continues to secure upcoming works, we are seeking Expressions of Interest from qualified and experienced Boilermakers for future project opportunities. The Opportunity This is a site‑based role at the Muchea BESS. If you are located within a one‑hour drive of Muchea, you can commute daily. If you live further away or interstate, you must be willing to work on a DIDO or FIFO basis. You will be responsible for the fabrication of ferrous and non‑ferrous metal components including structures, frames, plate assemblies, pipework, vessels and equipment supports. All work will be completed to defined specifications, drawings and welding standards, with quality and safety as a priority. Key Responsibilities Technical Perform boilermaker/fabrication duties to a high standard of safety and quality Interpret and work from fabrication drawings, specifications and work plans Prepare and clean metals including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, copper and alloys Cut metal using thermal and approved mechanical cutting methods Assemble components using jigs, clamps and tack welding Undertake welding activities to predetermined standards, including compliance testing where required Perform hot works, work at heights and assist with or operate elevated work platforms as required Use a wide range of hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely Safety Carry out all work in accordance with UGL and site HSE procedures Present fit for work and ready to safely perform assigned tasks Participate in daily pre‑start meetings and toolbox talks Use appropriate PPE, JSAs, pre‑work checklists and risk assessments Report hazards, incidents and near misses in line with company requirements Actively participate in safety training and continuous improvement Other Complete all required UGL and client site inductions Maintain a clean, tidy, organised and safe work environment Demonstrate a professional attitude, appearance and conduct at all times Comply with all UGL systems, processes, policies and expected behaviours Participate in training and development to continually enhance skills About You Essential Minimum 1 year experience in a similar Boilermaker role on construction or industrial sites Boilermaker Trade Certificate Construction White Card Current unrestricted Australian driver’s licence Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident with unlimited working rights Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision Strong safety record and quality workmanship Desirable Elevated Work Platform (EWP) ticket Telehandler ticket Confined Space Entry ticket Working at Heights ticket Personal Attributes Strong team player with a positive, safety‑first attitude Effective verbal and written communication skills Adaptable and willing to learn new skills and techniques Proactive approach to continuous improvement and efficiency Strong problem‑solving and relationship‑building skills Register Your Interest If you are a qualified Boilermaker interested in future opportunities with UGL, we encourage you to apply.
