We are currently seeking an experienced Full-Time Painter to join our team to support ongoing maintenance and refurbishment projects. Key Duties & Responsibilities Preparing surfaces for painting including cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, filling cracks and repairing damaged surfaces. Removing old paint and coatings using appropriate tools and techniques. Applying primers, sealers, undercoats and protective coatings to walls, ceilings, timber, metal and other surfaces. Applying paints, varnishes, stains and specialty finishes using brushes, rollers and spray equipment. Matching and mixing paint colours to meet client and project specifications. Carrying out interior and exterior painting works for residential, commercial and strata properties. Completing repainting and touch-up works as part of ongoing maintenance contracts. Protecting surrounding areas with drop sheets, masking tape and coverings to prevent damage. Repairing minor plaster and surface imperfections prior to painting. Operating, cleaning and maintaining painting tools, equipment and spray machines. Safely erecting and using ladders, scaffolding and work platforms where required. Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets company quality standards and client expectations. Complying with WHS regulations and maintaining a safe and tidy work environment at all times. Coordinating with supervisors, maintenance teams and other trades onsite. Reporting material requirements and any site issues to management in a timely manner. Qualifications & Experience Relevant trade qualification in Painting and Decorating or equivalent. Minimum 2–3 years’ proven experience as a Painter. Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques and finishing materials. Experience in residential, commercial or strata maintenance environments preferred. Sound understanding of WHS requirements. Ability to read and interpret job specifications and work orders. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or within a team.
