Cremator Operator Pet Aftercare Services | Cremation Team Are you practical, reliable, and comfortable in a hands‑on environment - while also bringing care, respect and compassion to the work you do? We are seeking a Cremator Operator to join our Pet Aftercare Services team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring pets are cared for with dignity and professionalism, supporting families during an incredibly important time. About the Role As a Cremator Operator, you will support the cremation process from start to finish, working closely with the Cremation, Prep and Client Care teams. This is a physically active, operational role that also requires empathy, attention to detail, and adherence to strict safety and quality standards. You'll be working in a structured, process‑driven environment where accuracy, safety, and respect are paramount. Key Responsibilities Operate cremation and ashes processing equipment in line with procedures Load, operate and monitor cremators safely and efficiently Assist with unloading, sorting and managing pets within cool rooms Carry out private and communal cremations with care and precision Mill and prepare ashes, ensuring quality assurance standards are met Maintain accurate records, tagging and data entry for all cremations Support client interactions, including greeting families for viewings when required Assist with collection and delivery of pets and ashes as needed Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and WH&S compliance Perform basic equipment maintenance and report faults or hazards ✅ About You Comfortable working in a high‑temperature, industrial environment Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks Experience using machinery, equipment or power tools (highly regarded) Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures Calm, reliable and able to work positively under pressure Confident using basic computer systems and technology Team‑oriented with clear, respectful communication skills Q Fever vaccination (required) Experience in cremation, manufacturing, trades, warehousing, logistics, veterinary, animal care, or similar operational roles will be well regarded.
