The role: Reporting to the Microsoft 365 Domain Data and Security Uplift Project Manager, the Senior Application Specialist is responsible for the front-end deployment and optimisation of Microsoft 365 Copilot within Queensland Health's productivity and communications tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook and OneDrive and SharePoint environments. This role ensures Copilot is introduced in a controlled, usable, and policy-compliant manner, focusing on user experience, configuration consistency, and alignment with approved usage patterns. To achieve this, you will: Lead the configuration and deployment of Copilot within Microsoft 365 applications for defined early adopter cohorts. Ensure Copilot behaviour aligns with approved use cases, organisational policy, and training guidance. Work with change and training teams to develop practical, role-based guidance on responsible Copilot use, document handling, and sensitivity labelling. Identify front-end configuration issues or unintended behaviours and work with backend and cyber specialists to resolve them. Provide feedback from user experience into platform tuning, governance decisions, and Phase 2 readiness assessments. Is this the opportunity for you? To be successful in this role you will need a high level of understanding in Enterprise Solutions Domains as well as a demonstrated ability in designing, configuring and documenting enterprise systems within best practice IM/ICT design and delivery frameworks. To be successful in this role you will: Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) in enterprise environments. Practical experience deploying or supporting Microsoft 365 Copilot or advanced M365 features. Understanding of how document sensitivity labels, sharing settings, and permissions affect Copilot outputs. Experience supporting pilot programs, early adopter groups, and phased rollouts. Ability to translate technical controls into clear, usable guidance for non-technical staff. Strong stakeholder engagement skills with business users, trainers, and clinical/corporate support teams. Ability to translate technical risk into clear advice for senior governance and assurance bodies. Demonstrated analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills and a proven ability to work in a team environment developing effective working relationships with team members Have effective consultation, facilitation, written and oral communication skills for use in a complex program/project environment. Demonstrated ability to communicate, at business and technical levels, complex architectural concepts, drivers and issues, in both written and verbal formats.
