The Procurement Officer is responsible for providing procurement expertise and guidance to the local procurement team for procurement of equipment and services in connection with our clients electrical and mechanical scope at the heart of the Snowy 2.0 project. FIFO : 1:1 roster working from Cooma and home. Monday to Friday regular business hours. Flights and accommodation provided. Key Responsibilities Accountable for the formulation, development and implementation of purchasing strategies Conduct sourcing activities in a timely manner and in accordance with the project program Provide advice, information and guidance on procurement related matters to Onshore staff Manage relationships and ways of working with key suppliers to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of goods/services Compile and source market information, and assist in analysing markets and assessing risk Improve systems and processes to deliver greater efficiency and effectiveness Maintain registers of procurement, requisitions, approval registers etc for inclusion in reports Manage site procurement operational expenditure to plan Motivate and develop staff in accordance with career development plan Skills At least 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing / procurement on large scale Infrastructure/Construction Projects Sound business acumen and solid background in tendering, financial management and procurement Capacity to assess environmental, industrial relations and safety risks Contractual contract and claims awareness 2 year contract to begin with. Project Information Snowy 2.0 is the next generation of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme, and construction of this major pumped-hydro project is well underway. Once complete, the Scheme will provide 2000 megawatts of dispatchable, on-demand renewable power and approximately 350,000 megawatt hours of large-scale energy storage to the Australian National Electricity Market. We are working with the awarded Sub Contractor.
