Your Team The Enterprise Architecture & Delivery is part of CFS’s Technology, Transformation and Operations (TTO) business unit which is accountable for Technology and Operations. The Consulting Architect reports to the Principal Enterprise Architect and operates as an embedded partner across business and technology teams, providing architecture consulting, solution design, and strategic technology advice. This role is a 6-month contract / contingent role with a possibility to extend. Your Responsibilities Engage, consult, and advise business stakeholders on technology solutions and options, acting as a trusted first point of contact for technology-related business needs. Evaluate and triage business ideas, assessing feasibility, strategic alignment, and readiness for further investment. Develop conceptual technology solutions and solution architectures, including high‑level options analysis and recommendations aligned to target‑state enterprise architecture and strategic direction. Guide and support stakeholders through solution realisation and implementation, navigating internal technology teams, governance processes, and delivery pathways. Collaborate with domain architects, data, security, and subject matter experts to validate solution viability, ensure holistic design, and achieve secure, well‑integrated outcomes. Produce and govern architecture artefacts, including solution blueprints, technology roadmaps, integration patterns, and options assessments, while participating in ARB and SAF forums. Support capability uplift across the architecture practice, mentoring Solution Architects and evaluating emerging technologies aligned to strategic priorities and improved business outcomes. Your Capability and Experience Significant experience across enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or technology consulting roles, with demonstrated ability to operate across multiple architecture disciplines. Proven experience in the financial services industry, particularly Wealth Management and Superannuation, with a strong understanding of the regulatory, compliance, and customer engagement landscape. Experience developing target-state architectures, solution blueprints, integration patterns, and technology roadmaps for complex business environments. Ability to operate at both technical (solution design) and conceptual (strategy and advisory) levels, framing technology options within commercial and business frameworks and managing trade-offs between short- and long-term needs. Broad hands-on experience across a wide range of technology domains, including digital platforms, cloud services (Microsoft Azure, AWS), integration technologies, security, product administration systems, and infrastructure. Proven ability to pull together end-to-end solutions that span multiple technology domains, connecting the dots across platforms, integration layers, data, and infrastructure to deliver cohesive, fit-for-purpose outcomes. Excellent consulting, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences at all levels.
