Our Account Manager owns Shaw Contract commercial flooring product specification and project retention across Southeast Queensland, with a primary focus on the Brisbane CBD and greater metro area. The role builds strong relationships with architects, interior designers (including Design & Construct), builders, and flooring contractors to secure Shaw Contract commercial flooring products into projects, prevent specification switches, and drive profitable growth. Based in Brisbane, the position includes regular in-market engagement across the CBD and suburbs, with periodic travel to the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and Toowoomba, and significant time spent on the road meeting customers and influencing project outcomes. Responsibilities Win and protect specifications by building and sustaining strong relationships with architects, interior designers, and other key specifiers across the territory. Retain projects through the build phase by actively engaging builders and flooring contractors to prevent specification switches and secure product placement through to order and installation. Grow revenue and market share by identifying, pursuing, and converting high-value project and account opportunities through disciplined prospecting and account planning. Manage a healthy project pipeline from early design through completion, using Salesforce to maintain accurate activity tracking, forecasting, and territory plans. Influence decision-makers with compelling brand and product messaging, samples/presentations, and pricing guidance aligned to project requirements and competitive context. Expand strategic coverage by identifying and progressing supply agreements and other partnership models that increase specification frequency and share of wallet. Coordinate internally to deliver outcomes by collaborating with A&D Account Managers and other partners to align on project status, next steps, and specification strategy. Represent Shaw Contract in-market at industry events, trade shows, and networking activities to strengthen presence and create new opportunities. Requirements 3 years of professional experience required, ideally in sales and/or within commercial construction or commercial interiors; 5 years experience in the industry and a bachelor's degree is preferred. Valid driver's license and legal right to work in Australia. Ability to travel by car throughout the territory on a daily basis. Highly Preferred Experiences and Skills Industry background in commercial flooring, construction, or commercial interiors; experience selling to and through the A&D community is a strong advantage. Experience in roles such as sales/account management, specification representative, design, or project management within the construction industry. Demonstrated ability to navigate complex procurement processes, influence multiple stakeholders, and progress opportunities from early design to site delivery. Working knowledge of commercial project lifecycles and on-site installation considerations (e.g., sequencing, compliance, and stakeholder coordination). Proven relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills in a fast-paced, target-driven environment. Proficiency with CRM and territory management disciplines (Salesforce preferred), including forecasting and opportunity hygiene.
