JOB SUMMARY - Reporting to Commercial Manager, MCL, the role will play a major role in supporting billing and labour analysis for the Marsden Park operations within the network. - The Commercial Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the commercial, operations, and finance teams within a 3PL environment. This position is responsible for analysing customer performance, pricing models, operational costs, and market trends to drive profitability, improve decision-making, and support strategic growth initiatives. - Supporting with commercial analysis across the network such as new business opportunities, customer profitability and annual rise and fall applications. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Financial analysis, Process & Controls (40%) Financial Analysis – financial analysis and modeling; supports budgeting and forecasting; identifies insights from budgets and management reports to provide concise commentary. Increase controls for PO, procurement and monthly P&L reporting. Billing – Designing and implementing processes and tools to ensure consistent, accurate and timely data to be used for customer billing. Reduce revenue leakage with better understanding of customer contracts. 2. Labour KPIs and Ops support (30%) Productivity & Labour Management – Analyze labour spend and productivity against budgeted KPIs. Work closely with operations to identify opportunities for improvement. Hold Ops accountable via data driven insights. Drive turnaround plans. Customer contracted SLAs – Support the Ops team to achieve customer SLAs through reporting and providing actionable insights. Labour planning – Collaborate with operations support team to ensure detailed and accurate labour planning is completed and adhered to consistently. Training & Development – Upskill operations team to enable understanding and capability around labour planning and KPI tracking 3. Commercial support (15%) Customer – Support commercial tasks such as billing timeliness, application of annual rise and fall, ensuring compliance with requirements of the contract and identifying any out of scope activities Broader business – Work with the commercial manager to support commercial tasks for the broader MCL business; new business opportunities, customer profitability and Investment proposals. Analyse customer profitability, cost-to-serve, and contract performance. 4. Business Performance & Reporting (15%) Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly commercial performance reports. Provide insights on volume trends, cost drivers, and operational efficiency. Partner with finance to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
