Employer Bio: This established, multi-site organisation operates at meaningful scale across Australia, with a strong service mandate and increasing reliance on robust, secure and future-ready technology environments. With a professionalised executive team and a board that understands the strategic role of infrastructure, the organisation has reached a point where service delivery, resilience and platform performance require dedicated senior leadership. The focus is shifting from “keeping the lights on” to ensuring infrastructure actively enables growth, efficiency and reliability. While not a start-up, this is also not a slow-moving enterprise. The environment rewards practical leadership, clear prioritisation and an ability to modernise without unnecessary disruption. The Job: This senior role is responsible for the end-to-end performance, reliability and evolution of the organisation’s infrastructure and core technology platforms. Reporting at executive level and leading a technically capable internal team alongside external partners, the Director, Technology Operations will oversee cloud and on-prem environments, networks, cybersecurity, service management frameworks and business continuity planning. The remit is deliberately broad. It spans operational excellence, vendor governance, risk management and forward planning, with a strong emphasis on stability, scalability and user experience. This is not a purely technical role. It requires judgement, communication and an ability to translate infrastructure decisions into business outcomes. Key areas of responsibility include: Ownership of infrastructure strategy and service delivery outcomes Leadership of internal infrastructure and operations teams Oversight of cloud platforms, networks, security and core systems Vendor and managed service provider governance Incident, change and problem management frameworks Cyber security posture, risk mitigation and compliance alignment Business continuity and disaster recovery planning Contribution to broader technology and organisational strategy Culture Snapshot: The culture is professional, grounded and outcomes-focused. Expectations are clear, politics are minimal, and leaders are trusted to lead. There is strong respect for expertise, but no tolerance for ego. The environment suits someone who is confident, commercially aware and comfortable working with executives and boards without needing to overstate their value. Benefits On Offer: This is an opportunity for a senior infrastructure leader who enjoys accountability and influence, not firefighting. The organisation values leaders who can bring calm structure, strong standards and pragmatic improvement. If you enjoy environments where technology is taken seriously, investment decisions are thoughtful, and infrastructure is recognised as mission-critical, this role offers genuine scope. A senior executive salary package is available, commensurate with experience. The organisation also supports flexible working arrangements where practical, invests in modern tooling and values leaders who build sustainable, high-performing teams rather than heroic dependency. Skills Required: You will bring senior experience across infrastructure leadership, service delivery and technology operations within a complex environment. You are likely to have: Deep experience across infrastructure platforms, cloud environments and networks Strong understanding of cyber security and risk management Proven leadership of technical teams and external partners Experience operating within structured service management frameworks Confidence engaging with executives and boards A practical, commercially minded approach to decision-making Formal qualifications in IT or related disciplines are welcome but not essential. Capability and judgement matter most. How To Be Considered: To apply, follow the links or email with your CV.
