Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this HR Advisor plays a key role in supporting the school’s people strategy. You will provide trusted, practical HR advice, confidently manage employee queries and grievances, and contribute to HR initiatives that strengthen engagement and support the ongoing success of the school. This role will act as the 2IC to the Director, supporting key projects and being a real right hand across the function. You will also play an important mentoring role to the wider team, particularly the HR Administrators, helping to guide, support and uplift capability across the HR team This role will be based at the School’s Darlinghurst campus, right in the heart of the city. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required onsite five days per week during term time, with the flexibility to work two to three days per week from home during the school holidays Key Responsibilities: Act as the first point of contact for routine HR enquiries, ensuring accurate and consistent guidance Support all HR activities, policies, and procedures, including drafting and reviewing documents in consultation with the Director of HR Coordinate and support the work of HR Administrators Contribute to HR projects, strategies, and initiatives that improve engagement and retention Ensure compliance with relevant awards, legislation, and school policies, including working with children checks Skills and Experience: Tertiary qualification in HR or related field Demonstrated experience providing HR support within a school or education setting (highly desirable) Proven experience managing complex awards and enterprise agreements Strong understanding of employment legislation and broader industrial relations frameworks Deep understanding of HR compliance obligations and regulatory requirements Benefits: Work closely with an experienced Director, gaining valuable exposure and mentorship Free onsite parking available Prime CBD location with excellent access to public transport Daily morning tea provided at no cost Tidal Recruitment Partners have been engaged to recruit this position.
