About the Organisation: Dixon Appointments is partnering with a leading Australian university undertaking a significant transformation of its Student Management System. The program is focused on modernising core platforms and ensuring the secure, accurate migration of critical student and academic data into a new enterprise solution. About the Role: The Data Migration Technical Business Analyst will join a major transformation program, supporting the delivery of an end‑to‑end data migration solution from multiple legacy systems into a new Student Management System. This role is highly hands‑on and data‑centric, requiring strong analytical capability, technical expertise, and close collaboration with business analysts, solution architects, developers, testers, external vendors, and business stakeholders. You will play a key role in ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance throughout the migration lifecycle, including pre‑ and post‑migration validation. This opporunity is until the end of December 2026. Responsibilities: Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to define data migration scope and requirements, including historical data Analyse source system data and document data mapping and transformation rules Define data quality, substantiation, reconciliation, and validation rules Support and coordinate ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading Review data quality dashboards and reconciliation results, resolving issues in a timely manner Identify, assess, and manage data migration risks and issues Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and migration artefacts Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and governance standards Contribute to continuous improvement of data migration processes and automation opportunities Experience / About You: Proven experience delivering data migrations in large, complex environments with varying data quality Strong technical business analysis skills with a data‑focused background Advanced SQL expertise, including performance optimisation Hands‑on experience with ETL processes, data mapping, profiling, cleansing, and validation Ability to analyse complex data sets and translate requirements into clear technical documentation Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines Desirable: Experience in the higher education sector Exposure to student management systems such as Ellucian Banner or Callista Experience working in Agile environments or supporting Scrum delivery frameworks How to Apply: If this role aligns with your experience and interests, please apply via Dixon Appointments or contact our Technology Recruitment team for a confidential discussion.
