The role supports procurement governance, market approaches, and contract management across the agency. The position sits within the finance function and reports to the Chief Financial Officer. Location: Canberra ACT Work pattern: Up to 37.5 hours per week, flexible or hybrid arrangements may be considered. Salary range: $105,833 to $116,597 plus superannuation Fixed term, S26 or Hourly Rate Security: Baseline security clearance required Role overview This role supports legislative and operational control of procurement and grant related processes. The successful candidate will assist teams across the agency to manage procurement activities in line with Commonwealth policy and value for money requirements. Key responsibilities Provide advice and guidance on procurement processes across business areas Support development of procurement strategies that achieve value for money outcomes Assist teams to comply with procurement legislation and government policies Prepare and administer market approaches for goods and services Draft request documentation and procurement related materials Facilitate supplier questions and clarifications during market approaches Collect and assess quotes or tenders Draft contracts and support contract management activities Assist with procurement reporting Monitor procurement legislation and policy updates Contribute to briefings for the agency Executive when required Required experience and skills Experience supporting public sector procurement activities Understanding of Commonwealth procurement processes and governance Experience preparing procurement documentation and supporting market approaches Strong stakeholder engagement and advisory capability Ability to support contract management activities and reporting Highly desirable Experience using SAP GUI Experience using AusTender Experience with coordinated or cooperative procurement platforms Exposure to finance functions such as budgeting, financial reporting, accounts payable, or business partnering Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting Eligibility requirements Australian citizenship Ability to obtain and maintain Baseline security clearance Successful completion of a police record check The role is offered as a non ongoing, S23/26 or hourly rate APS engagement with an initial term of up to 12 months, depending on engagement structure.
