Rewarding hourly rates $$$/ Hybrid environment – ACT, VIC, QLD A high-profile Federal Government department is looking to engage an experienced Senior CIAM Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of a major Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) uplift within an Azure and AWS cloud environment. You will work across a large-scale, mission-critical program transforming customer identity services nationally. The successful Senior CIAM Engineer will be offered an initial contract until July with the view to extend for a further 12 months and receive a rewarding hourly rate. The successful Senior CIAM Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to: Lead the implementation and optimisation of core CIAM capabilities, including customer registration, authentication, authorisation, and profile management. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into secure, compliant CIAM configurations and scalable technical solutions. Configure, enhance and manage CIAM platform features while ensuring alignment with regulatory, security, and organisational standards. Prioritise and deliver automations, integrations, and performance improvements to streamline identity flows and user interactions. Work independently on competing priorities, providing high-level technical expertise across complex CIAM challenges. The successful Senior CIAM Engineer will have experience in the following: Strong experience designing, implementing, and optimising enterprise-grade CIAM solutions. Expertise with CIAM platforms such as Auth0, Okta, ForgeRock, Ping, Akamai, or equivalent. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams. Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to a high-performing technical culture. Commitment to public-sector values and delivering secure, user-centred identity services.
