Job Details This role will form a key part of our new Centre of Advanced Manufacturing Excellence which will provide support to our major manufacturing facilities throughout the country. As our Group Engineering Manager, you will be a pivotal figure in our senior management team, responsible for overseeing all engineering and maintenance operations across multiple sites. You will set the strategic engineering direction, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians across multiple large scale manufacturing sites. Key responsibilities include: Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing group of engineering managers and their teams, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and innovation. Strategic Planning and Execution: Determine and implement engineering strategies, policies, and plans that align with the company's overall business objectives. Process Optimisation and Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality and safety standards. Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise effectively with R&D, production, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless operational transitions and product industrialisation. Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure all engineering operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards, implementing robust governance and risk mitigation frameworks. About You You are a seasoned engineering professional with a proven track record in a leadership role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Essential Qualifications and Experience: A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field is preferred). Extensive experience (10 years) in a manufacturing/industrial environment, with significant experience in a managerial or leadership position. Experience in the Timber- and Panel manufacturing industry would be an advantage. Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, automation systems, and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma). Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
