Hybrid Working, 3 days onsite. We have a (Permanent) Technical Lead role available. You will have a heavy focus on modernising a legacy stack across .Net C++ and Linux, then building a modern Cloud Tech Stack from the ground upfrom the ground up. You will be leading the design, integration, and evolution of core software systems spanning legacy Windows applications, embedded Linux services, and modern Azure serverless architectures. This role bridges firmware, backend, and cloud development teams, ensuring the delivery of robust, maintainable, and secure solutions across on-premises, virtualised, and cloud environments. MOST IMPORTANTLY : This role requires someone that has proven experience in modernising a legacy stack, still hands-on in C#, WPF and C++. You have also been heavily hands-on in building a modern cloud tech stack from the ground up, ideally while modernising a legacy stack. The Technical Lead acts as both an architectural authority and hands-on mentor, ensuring software quality, scalability, and compliance across the entire product stack. In this role you will be responsible for Technical Leadership, Architecture & Design, Delivery & Governance, Collaboration & Influence. ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE : Strong Experience in modernising a legacy tech stacks (both C++ and / C#) to more Modern Code bases (ESSENTIAL) Hands-on Experience in building a modern Cloud Tech Stack from the ground up (ESSENTIAL) Hands-on in C#, WPF and C++ Prgramming (ESSENTIAL) Experience designing Azure Serverless architectures (Functions, Event Grid, Service Bus, Storage Queues) - Preferred Deep knowledge of Cloud Architectures - Essential 10 years of Software Engineering experience across C++, C#, .NET, and Cloud (Essential) Deep understanding of both on-prem and cloud architectures / ability to work in Hybrid Cloud Environments Proven ability to refactor and uplift legacy systems into maintainable, modular codebases. Experienced in Multi-Threading, Load Balancing and Telemetry Experience with Docker and container orchestration (K3s, Nomad, or Azure Container Apps). Knowledge of web front-end stacks (React/TypeScript) or mobile (Flutter). Proficient in CI/CD using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Octopus Deploy. Solid grasp of database design, query optimization, and hybrid data sync patterns. Understanding of regulatory and security compliance in production environments.
