About the Role and your Responsibilities: Your role as a Disability Support Worker is to support clients to remain living at home through the promotion of independence and choice. Helping clients develop life skills, interaction in social activities and provide companionship.You will uphold their dignity, respect, privacy and confidentiality at all times and ensuring they receive quality services that meet their assessed needs. Duties may include; Providing all personal care including showering, toileting, grooming, household tasks including cleaning and washing clothes. Managing challenging behaviours. Following the client's established daily routine consistently. Providing social and community access Actively engaging with the participant in activities in the home and community Data collecting and work with the participant to reach their goals consistently Monitoring the well-being of customers and reporting on their progress Providing Domestic Assistance Participating in staff meetings and attending training as required and any other activities specified by their individual care plans Skills and Qualifications: Certificate III in Disability or other relevant qualification Minimum 18 months relevant experience working in the disabilities sector Experience working with Positive Behavioral Support Plans Restrictive practice experience Trained to administer medication is desirable Knowledge and understanding of continuous quality improvement principles Experience in the delivery of personal care services and/or challenging behaviours Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work and communicate effectively with clients, their families, community agencies and other professionals Understanding of privacy and confidentiality issues Ability to work in a very busy environment and to work both independently and as a part of a team Own registered vehicle and current driver license NDIS worker’s check National Police Check - Optional Current Working with children’s check Valid First Aid & CPR certificate Blue Card Covid Vaccination Certificate (showing vaccination dates) Benefits: Generous hourly rate of $29-$35/ hour plus Super with the aim of rewarding expertise Opportunity to move into a full time role and further career development and progression within the organisation Work with a dedicated and supportive team who will work closely with you to support you and help you achieve your career goals How to Apply: This is a fundamental role in a growing organisation and your opportunity to help transform lives.
