APS5 Project Management Support 6-month contract, with a possible 2 x 6-month extension All locations in Australia Must be an Australian Citizen The Role Our government client is seeking an individual with strong interpersonal skills and experience in First Nations policy and engagements. The position requires strong communication, cultural capability, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to contribute high‑quality briefs and project outputs. Key Responsibilities: Contribute to project delivery within a fast‑paced and dynamic team environment. Support the redesign and development of project activities under senior staff direction. Assist in setting up governance arrangements and ensuring compliance with departmental and government policy frameworks. Track project timelines, deliverables, risks, and issues, escalating when required. Draft high‑quality briefs, reports, and presentations for senior executives and stakeholders. Build and maintain effective working relationships with First Nations peak bodies and technical experts. Help facilitate culturally safe consultations and incorporate feedback into project activities. Undertake additional duties aligned with the role’s level and organisational capability expectations. Key Capabilities: Understanding of co-design or human‑centred design approaches. Experience working in First Nations policy, programs, or engagement. Strong analytical, research, judgement, and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines. High‑level written communication skills, including preparing executive or ministerial‑level materials.
