We are a dynamic team looking for a skilled technician to support our growing hire and event schedule. Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Audiovisual Technician to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the preparation, setup, operation, and pack-down of professional audio, lighting, and vision equipment for a variety of events. You will ensure all technical aspects run smoothly, both in our warehouse and at external venues. Key Responsibilities Prepare, test, and pack audio, lighting, and AV equipment for hire in the warehouse. Conduct on-site installation, setup, and operation of PA systems, lighting rigs, and vision equipment (screens, projectors). Perform audio mixing for live events and monitor system performance. Program and operate lighting consoles and effects. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly during events. Assist clients with technical advice and equipment selection. Maintain equipment, conduct repairs, and ensure stock is in excellent working condition. Liaise with event organizers, venue staff, and other crew members. Perform equipment bump-out and conduct post-event checks. Skills and Experience Required Minimum of 1 years of proven, full-time paid experience as an Audiovisual Technician, or in a closely related role such as Live Sound Engineer, Lighting Technician, or AV Installer. Strong working knowledge of professional audio equipment (digital mixers, microphones, speakers, wireless systems). Experience with lighting consoles (e.g., GrandMA, Avolites, or Chamsys) and basic lighting design. Familiarity with video equipment (projectors, screens, scalers, LED walls) is highly regarded. Ability to read and interpret technical plans and event floorplans/input lists. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure in a live event environment. Strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to workplace health and safety. A current, valid Australian driver’s licence is essential (MR or HR licence is an advantage). Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules. Physical fitness to handle heavy equipment (up to 25kg) and perform manual tasks safely.
