We are seeking a motivated and proactive Facilities Assistant to support the delivery of professionally presented parks through effective installation, inspection, maintenance and asset management of park facilities. About the Role Reporting to the Parks Supervisor Facilities, you will assist in ensuring the parks, playgrounds and public amenities are safe, compliant and well maintained for the community. You will play a key role in: Parks Facilities & Maintenance Inspecting playgrounds, public toilets and park facilities for: Safety and compliance with relevant Australian Standards Wear and tear including vandalism Assessing asset condition, remaining life and replacement value Implementing work programs for park facilities Maintaining a proactive approach to Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Stakeholder & Contractor Engagement: Engaging and coordinating contractors for repairs and installations Liaising with staff and day labour teams Responding to customer enquiries and complaints regarding facility maintenance Supporting high levels of client and stakeholder satisfaction Resource Allocation & Reporting Assisting with forward planning, scheduling and allocation of resources Obtaining quotations and supporting contract documentation preparation Assessing contractor claims for payment Maintaining accurate records including: - Budget expenditure - Safety inspections - Vandalism reports - Parks database updates - Customer service statistics - Capital improvements - Timesheets and associated records About You You will bring: Demonstrated experience in inspecting and maintaining parks facilities and assets Knowledge of AS 4685.1 and AS 4685.2 standards Playground Inspector Accreditation (AS4685 Conduct Visual Inspection) or willingness to obtain during probation Strong communication skills with the ability to engage a broad range of stakeholders Experience supervising contractors and/or day labour Sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements Good computer skills, ideally with experience in GIS and asset management systems Ability to prepare concise reports and maintain accurate records You are a team player who can make sound decisions within delegated authority and contribute positively to a high-performing team culture. Requirements Current C Class Driver's Licence Current General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) ticket Ability to work a 38 hours a week Successful completion of a functional assessment
