The team plays a key role in delivering government initiatives through well-governed grants and procurement processes that align with Commonwealth frameworks and international program objectives. Working in a fast-paced policy and program environment, the team partners with internal and external stakeholders to ensure funding and procurement activities are delivered effectively, transparently and in line with legislative requirements. The Opportunity An APS6-equivalent Grants and Procurement Officer is sought to support the delivery of a bilateral engagement program during an important transition period. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex challenges, navigating grants and procurement frameworks, and working collaboratively across teams to deliver outcomes. The successful candidate will play a central role in developing Grants Opportunity Guidelines and managing procurement activities in line with Commonwealth rules. This position requires someone confident working independently, managing competing priorities and providing clear advice to stakeholders. The Role Reporting to the EL1, key responsibilities of the role will include: Developing Grants Opportunity Guidelines (GOGs) and associated risk documentation in line with the Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles (CGRPs) Supporting the full lifecycle of grants administration, including assessment, establishment, monitoring and reporting Preparing procurement plans in accordance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) Drafting procurement documentation including RFQs, RFTs, evaluation reports and contracts Establishing and managing contracts in line with Commonwealth procurement and financial policies Providing advice to stakeholders on grants and procurement processes and compliance requirements Maintaining accurate records and supporting audit, governance and reporting processes The Ideal Person The successful candidate will be an experienced APS6-level professional with strong grants (non-ODA) experience in a government or similar policy environment. You will bring: Experience delivering non-ODA grants and procurement within government programs Demonstrated experience developing Grants Opportunity Guidelines (GOGs) Strong knowledge of Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles (CGRPs) and Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) Experience developing procurement plans and managing procurement processes Ability to manage high workloads and operate independently in a fast-paced environment Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills High attention to detail and strong governance awareness Please note: an NV1 security clearance (minimum) is required. This role requires on-site engagement with the team, with four days per week in the office and one fixed day working from home.
