Reporting to the General Manager and sitting within the leadership team, this role will lead the HSE function across multiple civil and infrastructure projects. The company operates across multiple projects in NSW and is focused on delivering high-quality, compliant civil and infrastructure works. About the HSE Manager The HSE Manager will lead the company’s health, safety and environmental function, providing strategic oversight of systems, compliance and risk management across the business. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the role will be responsible for corporate HSE systems while also supporting project teams on site, working closely with operational leaders and mentoring the HSE Advisor. This role will be primarily office-based in South West Sydney, with regular travel to project sites across NSW. Key Responsibilities Lead the HSE function across multiple civil construction projects and corporate operations. Maintain and improve company HSE systems, policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with NSW WHS and environmental legislation. Manage enterprise risk frameworks and maintain the central risk register. Lead serious incident investigations and manage regulator engagement where required. Conduct site audits and oversee subcontractor safety compliance. Provide high-level reporting and performance insights to senior leadership. Support operational teams to strengthen safety ownership and accountability. Mentor and support the HSE Advisor across active project sites. Skills & Experience Proven experience in a senior HSE role within civil construction or another high-risk industry. Strong knowledge of NSW WHS legislation and environmental compliance requirements. Demonstrated experience managing incident investigations, audits and risk management processes. Experience working within integrated management systems and ISO-certified environments. Ability to engage and influence operational leaders and site teams. Strong reporting, systems management and organisational skills. Qualifications & Other Requirements Diploma in Work Health and Safety or equivalent qualification. Current Australian driver’s licence. Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 environments highly regarded. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or auditing qualifications advantageous. Why Apply?
