Heavy Industry Infrastructure Projects Adelaide Based Is this your next Electrical Career Move About the role We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer, Electrical to provide strategic technical leadership and governance across electrical engineering for large-scale infrastructure projects. You will be the Subject Matter Expert for electrical engineering, driving design excellence, risk management, and value-for-money outcomes across utility-scale projects. This role is ideal for someone with broad exposure to utilities and senior engineering environments within an engineering tier. What you’ll do Lead electrical engineering matters across the organisation on infrastructure projects, delivering high-level technical investigations, concept and detailed designs, and governance aligned with industry standards. Act as SME for electrical engineering; provide specialist capability to ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose and cost-effective. Champion Sustainability in Design processes to eliminate or minimise health, safety, and environmental risks across asset lifecycles. Develop and maintain technical governance for electrical engineering; continuously improve processes to deliver best-for-business outcomes. Support engineering management with the technical development of the electrical discipline and ensure integration requirements into engineering activities. Ensure timely, accurate, and practical information and documentation are provided to customers, with an emphasis on minimizing delays and delivering value. Who we’re looking for Professional electrical engineering qualifications and postgraduate qualifications are desirable. Registration/recognition by Engineers Australia (or equivalent); proven track record as an electrical engineering SME. Extensive experience in investigation, concept, and detailed design of electrical infrastructure for utilities or large-scale infrastructure organisations; ability to review and audit designs. Demonstrated experience with complex, novel engineering investigations and critical design work in electrical engineering. Experience developing and reviewing technical and infrastructure governance. Detailed knowledge of electrical engineering practices in utilities or similar sectors; capability to lead the electrical discipline at a high professional level.
