EL1 IT Infrastructure Engineer 12-Month contract, with 2 x 12-Month extension possibilities Canberra based - full time Must be able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 Role Infrastructure Engineers implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services. Key Duties and Responsibilities Assist with the planning and delivery of infrastructure modernisation project activities in line with NBA's ICT strategy; Support a variety of Windows Servers, SQL Servers, backup tools, support tools and virtual infrastructure; Deploy Applications and Operating systems using a mixture of both on-premises and cloud solutions; Configure security products such as Windows Defender, Microsoft AppLocker and Windows Defender Application Control; Automate Support Tasks using PowerShell, System Centre Configuration Manager and other automation tools; Provide technical support to resolve incidents and service requests effectively, promptly and courteously; Assist with the integration and support of cloud services into the NBA environment; Operate in an environment compliant with the ACSC Information Security Manual; Provide support and assist the CIO, the ICT Infrastructure team and Architecture with infrastructure technology decision making; Develop documentation such as standard operating procedures and technical design documents, assist in documentation and advise on procurement matters; Criteria Support and enhance the NBA Microsoft SQL Server environment, including planning and delivery of infrastructure modernisation aligned with the ICT strategy. Support infrastructure platforms including Windows and SQL Servers, backup and support tools, and virtual infrastructure. Deploy, maintain and support applications and operating systems across on‑premises and cloud environments. Configure and manage security controls including Windows Defender, Microsoft AppLocker and Windows Defender Application Control. Automate support and operational tasks using PowerShell, System Centre Configuration Manager and related tools. Assist with integration of cloud services within the NBA environment. Operate in compliance with ACSC ISM and PSPF requirements. Provide technical advice and support to the CIO, ICT Infrastructure team and broader ITS team. Work independently with limited supervision as part of a small multidisciplinary team. Develop and maintain documentation such as SOPs and technical design documents and provide procurement advice.
