Key Responsibilities: Financial Planning & Forecasting Collaborate with executives to define business strategy and key performance measures. Source and challenge business assumptions to drive accurate financial forecasts, budgets, and planning models. Develop and maintain robust financial planning models aligned with business needs. Manage the end-to-end financial planning process, including development, review, approval, and reporting. Balance strong business partnering with independent financial control—challenging the business to achieve ambitious yet realistic outcomes. Business Performance, Reporting & Partnering Build and maintain effective relationships with business partners. Deliver tailored performance reporting to stakeholders including the Board, Executive Team, and Managers—covering both financial and non-financial metrics. Support executive accountability through timely, data-driven reporting. Identify performance issues, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations. Collaborate with Group Financial Control, Treasury, and Investor Relations to ensure accurate inputs for reporting. Partner with Financial Accounting and BI teams to meet business needs and maintain management account hierarchies. Understand internal cost allocation methodologies and provide strategies to manage costs effectively. Analysis & Data Visualisation Conduct regular and ad-hoc analysis to deliver insights for informed decision-making—covering pricing models, customer analysis, competitor benchmarking, and activity-based costing. Present analysis in a clear, compelling format to influence stakeholders. Work with BI technologies to design, develop, and maintain reporting and insight tools. Collaborate with IT to ensure trusted data sources and optimise reporting processes for clarity and impact. Leadership & Management Lead, coach, and develop direct reports (currently one) to ensure high performance and engagement. Contribute actively as part of the Finance leadership team. Your Experience Minimum 10 years in accounting, finance, or FP&A (retail banking preferred). At least 5 years’ experience managing people. Strong accounting expertise combined with commercial acumen. Excellent knowledge of risk analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. Advanced proficiency in financial software and MS Office. Experience with advanced tools such as Power BI, TM1, Tableau. Skilled in using BI tools to automate reporting and create dashboards. Highly analytical with strong mathematical aptitude. Exceptional communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills. Proven problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Strong organisational and leadership capabilities. Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field. Experience in digital or banking environments. Exposure to greenfield, start-up, or high-growth organisations. Understanding of structured file/database formats (CSV, XML, XBRL). Knowledge of SQL.
