About Us: The Parklife Metro consortium, in partnership with the NSW Government, is delivering one of Western Sydney's most transformative infrastructure projects as part of the Sydney Metro - Western Sydney Airport line. Our consortium—featuring Plenary, RATP Dev, Siemens, and Webuild—is delivering this once-in-a-generation project under the Stations, Systems, Trains, Operations and Maintenance (SSTOM) package. This includes six new stations, a stabling and maintenance facility, rail systems, and a fleet of driverless trains. The Opportunity: We are seeking Expressions of Interest for a Public Affairs & Events Specialist who will be responsible for managing strategic relationships with key external stakeholders, including community and government representatives. The role oversees production and execution of all public communication materials is responsible for all internal communications, including intranet news and all-staff emails, to support the Project's strategic direction. Key Responsibilities: Manage a high-performing communications and events team, guiding the strategy and delivery of all internal and external messaging. Oversee the production of high-quality digital, social media, print, and video assets, ensuring brand consistency and quality. Manage external enquiries, draft press releases, and incident communication materials to protect organisational reputation. Monitor media trends and daily reports to identify risks and provide strategic issues management support to leadership. Manage the creative specifications for photography, film, and animation projects to support public information goals. Partner with senior leadership to provide expert communication advice that aligns with project requirements and corporate outcomes. Drive the project’s public profile through information sessions, community forums, and public consultation initiatives. Work cross-functionally with departments to develop integrated messaging and promote project values. Identify stakeholder issues and develop mitigation strategies to minimise impacts and enhance project delivery. Stay informed of policy changes and legislative developments to ensure all engagement activities comply with industry standards and best practices. Ensure all deliverables meet client expectations and adhere to specific contractual requirements. About You: Ability to prepare and issue urgent copy for media, crisis or Government, manage business relations and work to tight timeframes and deadlines. Extensive experience in developing and implementing high quality communications and engagement strategies and liaising with stakeholders to build trust, honesty and reliability. Excellent communication skills, capable of conversing effectively at all levels. 10 years of experience in communications and engagement Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
