Sydney Wealth Management Contract or Temporary Our client is a leading global wealth advisory firm with a strong presence in Australia, and seeking to hire a Senior Private Wealth Risk Associate to their Sydney office . Sitting within the Wealth Management business on an initial 12-month contract , this position will help to support the risk function through Product Governance & Suitability Risk Frameworks as well as Credit & Margin Lending Frameworks, for the Private Wealth business. Our client is seeking to hire two onsite contractor-consultants to support both the Product Risk function and the Credit & Margin Lending Risk function . In this regard, the client is open to applicants across either PWM risk function. The ideal applicant will have several years of Risk and Product experience, with a focus on Private Wealth product and client support. Product Risk function responsibility: Assist in the management, analysis and development of the Product Governance framework. Assist in analysing, assessing and supervising Product and Suitability Risk for the Firm. Assisting with projects, new business initiatives and product approvals. Co-ordination and maintenance of the Approved Product List. Reviewing and approving new products as part of the Capital Markets Committee. Management of suitability reviews of various products. Ongoing review and performance of tasks relating to compliance with the Product Governance Policy of the business. Contribute to and assist with management information material for the Product Governance & Suitability Committee. Ensure standardisation and consistency in risk management policies and procedures applicable across the business relating to product and suitability risk Credit & Margin Risk function responsibility: Conduct timely risk assessments and approvals for trades, pre-approval exceptions, and asset movements. Review and authorise trade corrections, interest adjustments, and write-offs in accordance with risk policies. Assess and approve unlisted or non-publicly traded securities Approve complex or exceptional client transactions within defined risk frameworks. Provide clear and timely guidance to financial advisers on trade approvals and exceptions. Monitor client credit and margin exposures across Wealth Management portfolios. Identify, escalate, and remediate margin calls, credit limit breaches, and emerging risks. Maintain and enhance Credit and Margin Lending Risk Frameworks. Prepare and deliver detailed risk reporting to the Wealth Management Credit Risk Committee. Key Skills, Background & Qualifications for either function: 5 years’ experience in Risk Management or Product experience from a top tier international firm, ideally within Private Wealth Management. Substantial Risk Management or Product experience, with an Australian or global PWM firm. Strong knowledge of Australian and International Financial Markets and products including knowledge of equities, ETFs, listed and OTC derivatives, fixed income, managed/hedge funds and foreign exchange products. Data analytics knowledge; such as SQL, Power BI, Python, MS BI Stack skills are desirable. Strong analytics skills including strong XLS knowledge would be ideal Deep understanding of credit risk and margin lending principles is ideal, as this function oversees critical lending risk frameworks.
