We’re recruiting on behalf of a well‑established Australian retailer seeking an experienced HR Business Partner (Retail) to join their People & Culture team during a period of rapid change and growth. This role supports a large, multi‑site retail operation and partners closely with senior retail leaders. It’s well suited to someone who enjoys working at pace, building strong operational foundations, and providing pragmatic, commercial people advice in complex environments. There is urgency around this hire due to upcoming IR/ER priorities, so interim or contract arrangements are also being considered. The Role Operating as a centralised HR Business Partner, you’ll work alongside the GM of Retail and State Managers to embed consistent, scalable people practices while supporting day‑to‑day retail challenges. Key responsibilities Partner with State Managers through regular coaching and advisory touchpoints Provide commercially grounded advice to senior retail leaders and support the GM to design strategies that genuinely boost performance Build and embed clear, repeatable retail procedures and policies Lead the delivery of people and culture initiatives across the retail network Manage complex IR and ER matters with confidence and pragmatism Design solutions that scale across stores, regions and systems Your Profile Strong retail background is essential (multi‑site/frontline exposure) Proven HR Business Partner experience in fast‑paced environments Current, hands‑on IR/ER capability Commercial mindset with the confidence to influence senior leaders Comfortable working with ambiguity and competing priorities This is a high‑impact opportunity to step into a visible retail HRBP role, shape foundations that matter, and partner closely with leaders during a key phase of change.
