Successful and growing business City fringe location Attractive salary package The Opportunity Our client is a well-established and successful Queensland-based commercial construction company, looking to double in size over the next one to two years. The owner is focused on strategically investing in people, processes, and technology to support these ambitious growth plans. To help achieve this growth, our client is seeking a hands-on and accomplished Head of Finance. Reporting to the Managing Director and working as an integral member of the Executive Leadership Team, this role provides expert oversight across all financial, commercial, and project activities. An initial priority will be to review the entire finance function, identify opportunities for improvement, and establish scalable frameworks, systems, reporting, and governance suitable for an expanding multi-site operation. Partnering closely with the business, the Head of Finance will act as a trusted advisor on projects, funding, cash flow, and commercial operations, providing insights that inform strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation of financial, management and Board reporting with clear performance insights. Ensure full compliance with all statutory, tax and regulatory requirements. Oversee project financial performance, including cash flow forecasting, job costing and WIP reporting. Lead and develop a small highly capable team. Manage cash flow, payment runs, forecasting and bank covenant compliance. Ensure adequate funding is in place to meet operational and project cash flow requirements. Develop and execute a long-term financial strategy to support sustainable growth locally and interstate. Oversee debt facility compliance and key commercial matters including insurance, leases and licences. About You To succeed in this role, you will be a commercially minded, CA/CPA qualified finance leader who can operate at both a strategic and hands-on level within a fast-growing construction environment. You will bring proven experience leading finance functions in project-based businesses, with strong technical capability across financial reporting, cash flow management, and project financial performance. Demonstrated experience using Jobpac (or similar construction ERP systems) will be highly regarded. A confident business partner, you will be comfortable working closely with operational leaders and providing clear financial insight to support project and commercial decision-making. You will have a track record of improving finance processes, systems and reporting frameworks to support business growth while maintaining strong governance and compliance. Strong communication skills, a proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, growth-focused environment will be essential.
